Our Story
Get to Know Us
Built in 1807, our little building has been part of the Harmony community for over two centuries. Over the years, it has served many purposes and welcomed generations of people through its doors. The name “Lagerhaus,” meaning “storehouse” or “warehouse” in German, reflects both the history of the building and Harmony’s German heritage.

In 2017, the Rodgers Brothers of Rodgers Brothers Inc., who also own and operate the blue building across the street, purchased the building, and later that year Lagerhaus Bakery officially came to life. Katie Rodgers founded the bakery and ran it until 2024, when Ashley, (her cousin’s wife) stepped in to continue the story and keep Lagerhaus in the family.
Owning a bakery has always been Ashley’s dream. With a degree in entrepreneurship, a culinary certificate in baking and pastry, and years spent baking and developing recipes at Beaver Bagel Company in Beaver, PA, she fell in love with the process of creating homemade food from scratch and sharing it with others.

While Lagerhaus has grown and evolved over the years, the heart behind it has remained the same: homemade baked goods, good coffee, and a cozy space where the community can gather, slow down, and feel at home.
Whether you’re stopping in for your morning coffee, meeting a friend, or picking up something sweet to share, we’re so glad you’re here.
